In a groundbreaking move that’s only eight years too late, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has bravely added four vulnerabilities to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog. This is akin to finally realizing that leaving your front door open in a crime-ridden neighborhood might not be the best idea. Bravo, CISA, for reaching this eureka moment.
Among the thrilling discoveries is a vulnerability from 2014. You know, back when selfies were still novel, and conspiracy theories were charming instead of terrifying. Apparently, a buffer overflow vulnerability in Multi-Router Looking Glass (MRLG) is now considered a serious issue, and not just an urban legend whispered about in hacker forums for the past decade.
To the shock and awe of absolutely nobody, CISA also identified three other glaring security flaws that all well-informed cybercriminals have been exploiting in plain sight. It’s as if they’ve just discovered that water is wet. Truly, we are at the frontier of cybersecurity revelation.
