In a stunning development, cybersecurity watchdogs have revealed that EncryptHub, a notorious threat actor, has been exploiting a security flaw in Microsoft’s Management Console, nicknamed MSC EvilTwin. Apparently, this flaw was so obscure, it could only be discovered by cybercriminals who have their own master’s degrees in ‘Digital Mischief and Tomfoolery.’
The bug, CVE-2025-26633, proved to be the perfect accomplice in delivering the Fickle Stealer Malware. Who knew that ‘Fickle’ would be the most appropriate name for a malware that changes its attack vectors more often than a college student changes majors? Microsoft was reportedly so thrilled by this naming choice that they considered renaming Windows Defender to ‘Maybe-Thief-Catcher.’
Meanwhile, EncryptHub continues to challenge the opinion that cybercriminals lack creativity. Their latest campaign flawlessly merges social engineering with technical wizardry, leaving many to wonder – is it time to dig out those dusty copies of ‘Computing for Dummies’ or perhaps switch to chiseling messages on stone tablets?
